Freedom Farm Board Member
After a divorce in 2013, I experienced how difficult it was to find acceptable, affordable housing. Because of my love of home and my heart to minister to women, I desired to provide quality, affordable homes for women going through similar situations. With God’s help, I bought my first home at the end of 2015. It was a major fixer upper which I eventually brought back to life and rented to a young woman.
I loved restoring the home as it was similar to the restoration God was doing in my life, bringing it out of the ashes. I wanted to do it again but knew it could take years helping one woman at a time. While praying about this, God dropped in my heart that if I provided a home for Dave and Julie to start Freedom Farm, I would be helping multitudes of women. I was excited and questioned Julie about what she needed concerning the home, land and location as well as her vision.
In 2017, I purchased a 5 bedroom, 3 bath home in Kingsley on 2.5 acres with a walkout basement. After fixing it up, Dave and Julie moved in and Freedom Farm had a physical birth place. The walkout has been made into a 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment. It is currently being used to provide a beautiful and affordable home for a young woman.
I believe God has blessed me financially so I can be a blessing and support to Freedom Farm and their mission. I bring my life experiences to the board of directors, mainly overcoming abuse, divorce, co-dependency and learning how to start over. I am honored to serve on the board and look forward to the time when I can do more hands-on ministry.
